Sequential Simulation Instructions

Sequential Simulation Instructions

1 Draw your circuit as you normally would.

For each signal you want to produce a timing diagram for:

  2. Attach an LED to the signal.

3. Select the LED. Right click to bring up a menu. Select ``Add to logic history'' from the menu. Bring up the same menu again and select ``text''. Type in the name of the signal as you want it to appear in the timing diagram.

4. Select the ``Tools'' pull-down menu from the top of the DW window. Select ``Logic History Window''.

5. In either the Logic History Window or the DW menu, select the run button (the arrow) to start your simulation. Traces will appear as shown in figure 2.

You may want to change the clock rate so you have time to toggle switches while the simulation is actually running. To do this, select the ``Circuit'' pull-down menu from the DW main window, then select clock speed. The speed can be set to 1,2,5 or 10 Hz.
