So this is right after midnight on new-years. From the left is James, Steph, Malin, and Jody. James is from the US, Steph is from PA (near Pittsburgh) who is a crazy, fun, and hyper person who makes the most random comments. Malin is a sweet Swedish girl studying to be a sound engineer which I meshed well with (we surprisingly had much in common). Jody is from Seattle Washington and is studying to be an Electrical Engineer at UW. She is one of the guys who enjoys watching anime and playing video games. So this picture was in the town square - it was crazy that night
This is a traditional Japanese bar where we spent two hours right before the new years. I tried warm sake which I really didn't mind too much. David (you can see his hand and part of his face), James, and Steph ordered blow fish (tasty fish of death). David practically made me try some - damn his peer pressure. I am still alive so that means something right?
We saw this pyramid looking building from the Tokyo tower so we decided to check it out. It turned out to be a modern Buddhist temple. They were worshiping at that point so we herd them chanting something over and over again (ask David what they said because he had it down packed). They gave us a brochure but it was in Spanish for some reason.
This was a glass bottom of the tower where you could look down. It was really scary to stand on it even though you knew you were not going to fall.
A picture from inside the tower looking out over Japan. You could not see as far in the afternoon because of the smog as in the morning (we were there in the afternoon - we being David, Dave, and myself).
The Tokyo Tower itself!
My first experience in a capsule hotel. This is where you sleep -> your cap. You had to keep your luggage in a locker on the first floor. The showers (public) were located on the top floor. It was cheap and a nice place to stay for one night.
We were at a ramen shop. On the left is Jacob and Jody is on the right. I spent much time with Jacob. He is from Sweden studying to be a Computer Scientist. He is definitely a unique individual who aspires one day to be a game designer for an elite studio.
